KOPRA perceives itself as the bridging link between internship and job openings and applicants by connecting companies with students or young professionals and vice-versa. The website facilitates direct contact between internship and job providers and seekers. The future engineer for example, looking for a position at a car manufacturer in Korea would send his applications through the KOPRA website directly to the company offering an internship in this field. In the case where a company wishes to hire an Economics major to intern in its office in Japan, it would contact suitable candidates matching the internship requirements via the KOPRA database of prospective interns online.
The KOPRA concept is a success. Regular surveys among the participating companies exemplify this fact: a large majority of the companies is highly satisfied with the interns and young professionals found through KOPRA – a company which has formerly used the platform will usually utilize it again and again. The platform is highly efficient: A large number of the companies looking for applicants were able to fill the position announced.
Even though the matching really works without the active participation of KOPRA, neither companies nor applicants are left alone. KOPRA is equipped with an extended know-how about the target regions and offers administrative support to limit bureaucratic costs for both parties as much as possible by assisting the preparation of an internship or a job offer or the envisioned stay abroad.
KOPRA is non-profit oriented. Initiated and accompanied by personalities from the private sector, politicians and scholars even till today, KOPRA concentrates its focus uniquely on arranging internships and jobs in Europe or Asia. In 2004, the Mercator Foundation was won as a sponsor. Furthermore, other partners support KOPRA financially and in spirit. KOPRA offers special services to companies, students and young professionals who become supporting members.
